About us

This website and service are operated by an individual sole proprietor trading under the names hongyi.ai and 宏依 (Hongyi) ("we", "us"). We make AI music videos.

Contact: admin@hongyi.ai. A real person reads this address — write to us with any question about these terms.

Privacy policy

In short: we collect only what is needed to make your film, we never sell personal data, and we hold as little as possible — payments run through Stripe and we never see your card number.

What we collect

• What you enter in the form: name, email, phone, occasion, the story you want told, song/style preferences, timing, what materials you can provide, subtitle preference, who referred you, and any notes.
• Materials you send us: photos, video, audio recordings, written text.
• Interview content: what you tell us during the 30–60 minute online interview. If we need to record it, we ask you first.
• Payment information: handled by Stripe. We can see the amount, date, invoice status and your name/email — we never see or store your full card number.
• Site analytics: anonymous statistics via Google Analytics 4 (page views, referrer, device type), which uses cookies.

How we use it

• To make the film you ordered;
• To contact you about your order (email or text);
• To issue invoices and receipts, and to process refunds;
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your order.

Who else touches this data

We rely on these third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google (Workspace email, Google Forms, Google Analytics) — form responses, correspondence, site statistics;
• Stripe — payment processing, invoices and receipts;
• Netlify — website hosting;
• YouTube / Bilibili — used only to host films that have been publicly published (see "Public tier" below).

We run no database of our own: beyond the services above, we keep no separate copy of your details.

What the "Public tier" means

If you choose the free Public tier, your finished film is published openly on hongyi.ai and on our video-platform accounts, where anyone can watch it. Films on the Private tier (US$99) are never made public. On either tier, we will not publish materials containing your personal identifying information (ID documents, home address, phone number) without your consent.

How long we keep things

• Materials you supplied (photos, video, audio, text): deleted between 7 and 14 days after your film is delivered. We hold them that long so you can request a revision within 7 days of delivery.
• Email and form records: as long as needed for business and tax purposes.
• Payment records: retained by Stripe under its own policy and applicable law.
• The finished film itself: we keep it, for delivery, portfolio and case-study use (scope in Terms, section 3).

You can also ask us to delete them sooner and we will, within a reasonable period.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete your materials, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Write to admin@hongyi.ai and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU, California or a similar jurisdiction you may have additional statutory rights; we handle those requests through the same process.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics 4 cookies for anonymous traffic statistics. You can block cookies in your browser without affecting browsing or ordering. We serve no ads and do no cross-site tracking.

Minors

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If your film involves a minor's photographs or story, please make sure you are their guardian or have the guardian's consent.

International transfers

The services we use (Google, Stripe, Netlify) operate primarily in the United States, so your data may be stored or processed there. By ordering, you understand this.

Refund policy

Two options when you cancel

As long as you have not yet received the final MP4, no matter how far production has gone, you can email admin@hongyi.ai to cancel — no explanation required. Because production starts as soon as you pay and the cost is already incurred, you choose between these two:

The choice is yours. If you request a refund without saying otherwise, that is treated as Option A.

We issue full refunds only — no partial refunds.

Either way, we will never publish frames containing identity documents, home addresses, phone numbers or banking details.

When refunds are not available

• After you have received the final MP4 — it is a digital product custom-made to your brief, and is non-refundable once delivered.
• Revisions already completed (US$69 each) — non-refundable once delivered.
• The Public tier is free, so no refund applies.

How to request one

Email admin@hongyi.ai with your name or invoice number. We action it within 3 business days; Stripe returns the money the way it came, typically in 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

We issue full refunds only — no partial refunds.

If we cannot deliver

If we cannot deliver for any reason of ours — time, technical or otherwise — we refund you in full on our own initiative and tell you why.

Terms of service

By placing an order you agree to the following.

1. What we provide

We make you an AI music video of about 3 minutes with bilingual Chinese/English subtitles, normally delivered about 7 days after your materials are complete. Delivery timing is an estimate, not a guarantee; we tell you in advance if it will slip.

• Public tier: free. Your film is published openly on hongyi.ai and our video-platform accounts, streaming only, no download.
• Private tier: from US$99. Your film stays private and we send you the downloadable MP4.
• Number of main characters: US$99 includes 1 main character; each additional main character is +US$29. For example, 5 main characters = US$99 + US$29×4 = US$215. A “main character” is a person who needs their own character design and appears repeatedly through the film; someone who appears only once or twice in a group photo or in the background is not counted and costs nothing extra. The number of main characters is confirmed when you order or during the interview, and production starts only after it is confirmed.
• Revisions: US$69 each, requested within 7 days of delivery. The price covers one finished delivery and does not include revisions; after 7 days your materials are deleted, so a later revision requires you to resend them.
• Referrals: for each friend who orders on your referral you receive 30% credit toward your next film; credits stack.

2. The materials you give us

When you send us photos, video, audio or text, you represent and warrant that:

• you have the right to use those materials, or have permission from whoever does;
• where they show other people's likeness or identifying information, you have those people's consent;
• they infringe no third party's copyright, likeness, privacy or other rights, and break no law.

You grant us permission to use and edit those materials to make your film. That licence becomes irrevocable once production has begun and survives any cancellation or refund. It covers publishing the finished film on hongyi.ai, on our video-platform accounts and on social media, and using it as a client case study in our portfolio and marketing.

The publishing part of that licence takes effect if you choose Option A (full refund) under the refund policy; if you choose Option B (no refund, no publication), we undertake not to exercise it. The free Public tier is itself premised on public release.

Private-tier films delivered normally (no refund) are not published under the above; if we want to showcase a Private-tier film we ask your permission separately.

If we reasonably believe materials may infringe rights or break the law, we may decline or stop the work and refund you in full.

3. Rights in the finished film

• Private tier: once delivered, you are free to watch, keep and share your film privately, including posting it to your own social media.
• We retain the right to show films in our portfolio and marketing; for Private-tier films we ask your permission first.
• Public tier: you understand and agree the film is published openly for anyone to watch.
• The AI-generated imagery and original music in the film remain ours; this does not limit your use of the film as described above.

4. About the AI

The imagery and music in this service are generated by AI, created from the story and materials you provide. The result is an artistic work, not documentary footage; people and places on screen may be stylised or invented. Where a film depicts a real person, we make it only on the basis that you have the necessary consent.

5. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe; we never handle your card details. Stripe sends your invoice and receipt automatically after payment, and you can view and download them any time under "My billing" on the site. Prices are in US dollars.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for this service is capped at the amount you actually paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update this page and will change the "Last updated" date at the top when we do. The version that applies to your order is the one in force when you placed it.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and the courts of Santa Clara County, California have jurisdiction. If mandatory consumer-protection law where you live gives you stronger rights, that law prevails.
